oil spill in mumbai

Hi every body ,
You must have heard about the collision between two ships namely MSC Chitra and MV Khalijia-111on Saturday 06 aug 2010 I know that the oil spill is serious issue , but what Iwant to say is that the media is making a big issue of the oil spill, and why BMC is waking up so late , why it is issuing warning for not consuming the fishes forfour days, is BMC sure that the fishes that were caught earlier were safe, first of all the BMC should see the level of pollution at the mumbai harbour. The BMC is not only showing its unfunctionality but also it is proving its uslessness The BMC only wakes up when there is some news in the news paper ,The news channels are made only to earn profit because they also wake up when ever there is major accident or some news making stuff, there has never been a report abut how the ship's are destroying the marine life of mumbai harbour the there has never been a check on the pollution normally spreaded by the ships, slowly but steadily the harbor of mumbai has become so much polluted that it needs an intensive cleanship program just like the ganga and yamuna project. The news are showing oil at the shores but have they ever visited the place when it is normal time there is always oil there. I'm not saying that they should not raise the recent issue, well it will raise the knowledge of people about the pros and cons of the sea pollution so that they can also raise their voice against the sea pollution. But all the news channels should also show regular programs and organise public movements about the samearine life of mumbai harbour the there has never been a check on the pollution normally spreaded by the ships, slowly but steadily the harbor of mumbai has become so much polluted that it needs an intensive cleanship program just like the ganga and yamuna project. But all the news channels should also show regular programs and organise public movements about the same. If the above is followed then only we can boast of a clean and clear harbour like other developed countries
